Please add your contact details to this form if you are interested in participating in the collection of soil from an African-descendant burial ground in the City of Charleston. We will work with property owners to coordinate the ceremonial collection of soil from our sacred burial grounds. The soil will be used in the creation of the bowl for the memorial fountain for the Ancestors and will serve as a symbolic reminder of the unseen and untold burial grounds containing the many enslaved and free Africans who lived, toiled and were buried in the earth upon which our city is built.
