  Junior High and High School gardeners are invited to apply to this competitive summer program.  If accepted, you will be scheduled for at least two mornings a week selected as one Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 9:00-11:00 am and your second day a Tuesday or Thursday from 9-12 for special group activites. Garden Crew members help maintain the garden area- caring for the plants, harvesting, creative building projects, and more. The schedule will be established based on availability and having 4-6 youth in the garden helping each day. Communication by texting is important to confirm the schedule. You will develop leadership skills, job readiness, and team work. In addition, returning participants with experience will be able to share with new participants what they have learned and be a positive role model for the new members. This is a Christian based program in which you will learn more about God's creation and what it looks like to follow Jesus. 

Applicants will be notified of acceptance no later than May 30th. We are looking for a diverse group, balance of new and returning crew, male/female ratio, and priority given to Salem City residents and those available for the most dates out of the 8 weeks (which includes the training days week of July 1-3). Clear selection
We will try to be flexible in scheduling but you will be more likely to get your two days per week if you are also very flexible. Our goal is to give each person two days/wk. At the end of the summer first year participants will be awarded a gift card based on their participation level unless choosing the option to complete as community service hours. There are three levels for Seed Crew.  *
