TOGETHER IN JESUS: FIRST RECONCILIATION:  In this lesson we are going to read about how we make peace at Mass. We not only ask for forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, but we also do it every time we go to Mass. Turn to page 3 in your "Together in Jesus" booklet and read how we 1) confess our unloving actions, 2) ask God to forgive us, and 3) share a sign of peace during the Mass. Then answer the questions below.

Fantastic job! In our last lesson we talked about words and actions of forgiveness that we will experience in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In this lesson we talk about the words and actions at Mass that we use to ask for forgiveness. In the beginning of Mass, we confess our unloving actions; we pray our Lord's Prayer, the Our Father where we ask to be forgiven the same way as we need to forgive others; and at the Sign of Peace, where we offer others a wish for peace. Our souls crave peace. God wants to fill you with his peace so that you can go out into the world and share it with everyone who crosses your path.
HAIL MARY: The "Hail Mary" is a very special prayer that focuses on the Blessed Virgin Mary. As you learn this prayer it is important to understand who Mary was. Mary was a real person, born on this earth to her parents Anne and Joachim. Mary never sinned. Because she had a special calling from God, she never did anything that would offend or hurt God. She was full of grace and virtue.  Mary is the mother of Jesus. She was an important part of God’s plan to bring Jesus, Our Savior, into the world. She loved and cared for Jesus from the time He was a baby to the time He went back to Heaven. Mary is our Heavenly Mother. She has a special job to care for us and protect us. She wants all of God’s children to be with her in heaven one day. Mary wants you to talk to her. When we pray the Hail Mary or a rosary, we “talk” to Mary. She loves it when children come to her in prayer. Ask her to help you become more like Jesus.
Super great job!  I want you to remember that "Reconciliation is a Celebration." It is a celebration of God's power to make all things new for us!! We will continue to learn more about this celebration as we continue our lessons!
