Basics of Ophthalmology and Scribing Course Application
Thank you for interest in the online Basics of Ophthalmology and Scribing Course! This is an self-paced course encompassing all the essential subjects to introduce you the field of ophthalmology and scribing. After this course you may wish to pursue JCAHPO Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) exam. It is designed to make you knowledgeable in basic ophthalmology and also general medical and ophthalmic terminology. There is a quiz after each subject completion and a final exam. Every lecture is pre-recorded with video and PowerPoint presentations. 

The full course tuition is $200 and the course will be available for 90 days after enrollment.

Prior medical or ophthalmological background is preferred but not required. Successful completion of this program does NOT automatically result in certification and does NOT result in college credits. Upon completion of the course, the student may choose take the national Ophthalmic Scribe Certification examination. National certification is administered directly by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). Students are responsible for making sure they complete all certification requirements. Please see www.jcahpo.org for more details regarding certification.
