The Cappie-lication
The Fountain Valley High School Theatre Department is looking for new critics for next year's Cappies Critics Team!

What is Cappies?
The Cappies Critics and Awards Program is a program through which high school theatre and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in local newspapers. FVHS is involved with the OC Cappies in which selected reviews are published in the Orange County Register.

Expectations:
In addition to attending the critic training workshop in the fall, critics will be expected to attend a minimum of 6 shows throughout the school year, with the intent to see 10 shows.  

What is gained from being a Cappies critic:
By joining Cappies, you can improve your writing skills, gain the opportunity to be published in print, and become involved in theatre/journalism even if such classes do not fit into your schedule.

The review must be between 300-400 words, in third-person and the present tense, and written on a play or movie with focus on theatrical aspects (acting and/or technical elements such as lights, sound, and costumes). Will you have have reliable transportation? *
Critics will be able to attend shows from as close as Huntington Beach High School to as far as San Clemente High School. Having reliable transportation to and from shows is imperative.  
Are you aware of the commitment of being a Cappies Critic? *
Critics must be on time for scheduled shows,  participate in pre- and post-show discussions, and submit reviews under a deadline.
