Horror For The Holidays is a holiday shopping market for horror fans. It's grown so big over the last 5 years that we've had to move it to a bigger venue. We have room for more vendors (over 60) and we've added a day for extra shopping, making it now, a weekend of horror fun. And now that we have more room, and expect even more attendees, we're adding more attractions. Last year we got about 800 and we're hoping to at least hit 1,000 this year, if not more. With added advertising and promotion, this is definitely a possibility.

Travis County Expo Center is located in Austin and is the location for the Rodeo and the Lonestar Roundup car show. Which got us thinking. Let's make room for some awesome cars, but HORROR CARS! A little over 10 years ago, one of the biggest horror conventions, Texas Frightmare Weekend, was still small and they had a car show called Hot Rod Hearse Show. It was SO cool and that's our inspiration as well.

We have room for about 6 cars this year and plan on parking them right in front of the building where the market will be held — the main entrance. SInce this is our first year at this bigger venue, we want to see how attendance goes. If it is as successful as we hope, we can expand the car show next time — but at that point the venue will charge us for parking lot space. Therefore, for this one, we're going to have to be very select because of the limited space. We're looking for famous car models that appeared in horror movies, creepy hot rods and of course hearses! Here are just some ideas of horror movie cars we'd love to have:

Ghostbuster Ambulance
Evil Dead Oldsmobile Delta 88
Christine Plymouth Fury
Jeepers Creepers Chevy COE truck
Cujo Fold Pinto (maybe all dirtied up as if it's been ravaged by a  killer dog)
Phantasm Plymouth Barracuda
Monsters Hot Rod
Scooby Doo Van
Mad Max style cars?
And any others you can think of and that would be identifiable to horror rans.

There is no cost to show. We can offer you up to four weekend wristbands ($10 value each) to the market.

Weather: It is November and it is Texas, so the weather is always up in the air (get it?). In the past, we have experienced the gamut: rain, wind, cold temperatures and nice beautiful sunny weather. If the weather is bad, and you decide not to come, just let us know a few days beforehand so we can plan accordingly.

Pictures: Obviously the attendees will not only want to see you're wicked ride, but take pics with it. For other car shows, most car owners like to sit next to their cars to keep an eye on things. We are assuming this will be the case for ours. Weather might make that hard. We'll leave it up to you. You'll need to bring your own chairs.
