Dear Families,

You may be aware that the Government has announced an expansion of the current working families childcare entitlement which is being introduced in phases, the first phase includes 2 year olds.

Due to the expansion we would like to know how best to support our families and community at King's Oak Pre School.

The new entitlement means that from April 2024, where families meet the Working Families criteria they can access 15 hours term time care for children from the term after their 2nd birthday. The working families criteria is the same as that used currently for 3 & 4 year olds and also for Tax Free Childcare.

Full details of the criteria can be found on the Childcare Choices website, but a summary is below:

Am I eligible?

You, and any partner, must be employed or self-employed and each expect to earn (on average) between £8,684 a year and £100,000 a year

If you or your partner are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you're unable to work because you are disabled or have caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible.
