SPSSI has hosted Advocacy Days for several years, and each year we choose a different topic. This year, we are choosing to focus on "Protecting the Lives and Rights of Trans Youth."
SPSSI's 2023 Virtual Advocacy Day will take place on June 2.
Participants will need to be available ALL DAY on Friday, June 2 as meetings are sometimes rescheduled at the last minute on Capitol Hill.
Also, we will have a virtual training session on Tuesday, May 30 from 4-5 pm ET (1-2 pm PT). This training session will be recorded for people who cannot attend the session live. Participants will receive an orientation to the Advocacy Day issue from policy and research experts and receive training on how to conduct Capitol Hill meetings.
This opportunity is only available to dues-current SPSSI members as space is limited. Also, since this is an event through which constituents meet with elected officials, only people who live in the U.S. (including non-U.S. citizens) and U.S. citizens can participate.
SPSSI Policy Director Sarah Mancoll (smancoll@spssi.org) will follow up with people who are interested in participating in SPSSI's 2023 Virtual Advocacy Day to confirm that there is space for them to attend. At that time, confirmed attendees will be asked to pay the registration fee through SPSSI's website.
