2024 Youth Backpacking Trip Application
Application deadline was April 15 - it is extended to May 12. Youth will be notified by May 15 if they have been selected to attend this trip or not. If selected, payment ($50) and a medical form will be required by May 30. 
Location: Yellow River State Forest
Ages: 13-17
June 25-27, 2024 (~8 am Tuesday to ~4 pm Thursday/trip begins and ends at Swiss Valley Nature Center; carpooling available from the Hurstville Interpretive Center).
Mandatory pre-trip meeting Monday, June 17 from 1:00-4:00 PM - Location TBD (in Jackson or Dubuque Co).
Led by staff with Dubuque & Jackson County Conservation departments.
Youth will hike 20+ miles on a 3-day/2-night backpacking trip. We will camp in tents, cook food using backpacking stoves, and have fun immersing ourselves in the outdoors. This trip is for youth that want to experience an outdoor hiking and camping multi-day trip.
