Hospitality: Help organize food and other treats for our amazing staff. This could include preparing food, asking restaurants for donations or discounts, coordinating a quarterly "treat cart," and/or setting up or serving meals. Food handlers card preferred.
Sign Making: Create signs to advertise events as needed.
Copy Making: We print flyers approximately twice a month. This usually takes 30 minutes.
Bulletin Board Design: Create monthly displays for our PTO bulletin board.
Yearbook: Take pictures at school events.
Social Media: Design posts for our Facebook page and/or update our website.

What events would you be interested in helping with? Even if you can volunteer only 1 hour, it makes a huge difference!
Silent Auction: This is our main fundraiser for the year. We need help soliciting donations from local businesses, stuffing envelopes, writing thank you notes, etc. If you frequent local businesses, even handing out one of our donation letters would be extremely helpful!
Color Run: This will be PTO's first year partnering with student council for the color run. We need help planning the event, organizing and distributing prizes, and setting up and running the event on November 21.
Pool Party: September 22. Help with concessions (food handlers card required).
Books and Boos: October 27. This is a joint event with the school. We need help planning the "fun" part of this event. This includes distributing candy, manning carnival games, and setting up for the event.
Donuts with Grown Ups: November 16. Set up breakfast for students and their special adults and/or ask local businesses for food donations.
Holiday Night: We need help decorating the multipurpose room and library during the school day on 12/8. We also need help with crafts and food sales (food handlers card required) during the event.
Holiday Shoppe: December 7-15. We need many volunteers to help students shop and wrap their purchases. This a fun volunteer experience and a great way to meet other Mendoza parents!
Craft Night: January 19. Are you a creative person? We need help creating and organizing a craft night for our students.
Lego Derby: We will be hosting a Lego Derby during STEM Night on Feb 29. This could include seeking out Lego donations, building an inclined track for racing, and/or supervising car-building and racing.
Read-a-thon: This will be PTO's first time partnering with student council for the Read-a-Thon. We will need help with planning. Additionally, we will need daily help organizing and distributing prizes.
Spring Glow Dance: April 26. We want to bring a dance back to Mendoza- but we can't do it without help! We need help planning this event. We also need a professional or amateur DJ. Additionally, we need help decorating the gym after school and selling concessions.

Would you be interested in leading a class through the Art Masterpiece program? Guides will lead discussions about well-known works of art. Visits will last 20 minutes and will take place every other week from January to May. No experience is necessary.
