Because the online storage and use of images can be complex, we appreciate the time you're taking to read this information, too.

This campaign has two goals. We are gathering images to enhance our profiles of women writers in our revised interface, and to push back against gender bias online by ensuring the free use of as many of the images as possible. We’re collecting files in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format; at least 700×400 pixels; and at least 72 dpi.

When you're ready, choose one of these options:

1. Share an image with Orlando and the world by uploading it to Wikimedia Commons, an open repository that accepts educational and freely licensed images (If you haven't used it before, check out its guidelines for sharing files: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:First_steps/Uploading_files)

2. Share an image with Orlando and the world by having our team upload with an open license and host it on our servers at the Canadian Writing Research Collaboratory (cwrc.ca)

3. Share an image with Orlando and retain conventional copyright on it, with viewing restricted to the CWRC servers and to anyone who looks at Orlando's overview pages on the open web, i.e. not just textbase subscribers

4. Share an image with Orlando and retain conventional copyright on it, with viewing restricted to our textbase subscribers only (at orlando.cambridge.org)

5. Tell us about an image whose rights you're uncertain about.
