The MassSTAR 3-Day Citizenship Conference is 100% volunteer staffed and is sponsored by the Massachusetts Youth Leadership Foundation (MYL Foundation). We rely on the enthusiasm and dedication of our outstanding volunteers to make this weekend possible - and we are happy that you are interested in providing it for the 2022 MassSTAR Conference!

Please complete the application as soon as possible!!
Age: You must be under 21 years old at the time of the conference to be considered for a Junior Staff position. For those 21 and older, please see the Senior Staff Application.
Expectations of Junior Staff:
- Attend VIRTUAL Staff Training in April/May (more than one date will be offered to accommodate everyone's schedules)
- Be available and onsite on-site at Lasell University for the 2022 Conference from 5pm on Thursday, June 2nd 2022 through 7pm Sunday, June 5th 2022.
- Maintain professional behavior and appearance (in person and online) in all interactions with MassSTAR delegates, staff, and volunteers before, during, and following the 2022 MassSTAR Conference.
- Raise $250 in in-kind donations for the conference
- Ensure a sophomore delegate is nominated and registered from your high school
- Maintain academic eligibility to participate in extra-curricular activities at your school
Please note, failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in exclusion from conference staff. Any conflicts must be communicated to the Junior Staff Director with as much notice as possible.
[COVID-19 PROTOCOL]
With the ongoing pandemic due to COVID-19, the MYL Foundation is actively working with the host college to adequately plan a leadership and citizenship conference where all students, families, and staff members can feel safe and supported. With the Board’s discretion and support, the Conference Director and Conference Planning Committee will plan for an in-person conference to be held from Friday, June 3, 2022 to Sunday, June 5, 2022, adhering to local, county, state, and federal safety guidelines and protocols. If there is a need to transition to a virtual conference, the Conference Director and Conference Planning Committee will continue to support programming and recruitment efforts and communicate changes effectively to all stakeholders, with the understanding that necessary staffing changes may occur to fit the needs of a virtual conference.
