1. Introduction
The main objective of the PRIMA programme is to build and foster research and innovation capacities and to develop knowledge and common innovative solutions for Agri-food systems in order to contribute to solving water scarcity, food security, nutrition, health, well-being and migration problems upstream.
The scope of research and innovation is complex, and should be addressed with a multidisciplinary, cross-border approach involving a critical mass of Stakeholders. In this context, the participation of the socio-economic stakeholders (SME, enterprise, associations, non-governmental organizations,…) is the main key to make the common solutions more climate resilient, efficient, cost effective and sustainable. The two calls launched by PRIMA showed high participation of the private sector and an efficient involvement of socio-economic stakeholders in the execution of funded projects.
The present consultation is dedicated to socio-economic stakeholders in the Mediterranean region (Group of farmers, SMEs, large enterprises, NGO, associations) in order to identify their specific needs and preferred topics in the three pillars of PRIMA (Water management, farming systems and agro-food value chain) and Nexus water-farming systems-food.
This questionnaire is within the context of demand driven research and innovation, which responds to the “pull” of demand rather than the “push” of supply. It requires 5 – 10 minutes to answer the questions. For more information on the program, please visit the website: http://prima-med.org.
