GHS Alternate Fall 2020/21 Athletic COVID-19 Mitigation Protocols (complete separate form for each student)
Sports to Offer our GHS Students:
Football - March 8 - May 8
Boys Soccer - March 22 - May 15

General Guidelines
Coaches must have read all 2020 WIAA Return to Fall Sports Considerations.
Maintain social distancing of 6 feet for more than 15 minutes while conducting all activities as much as possible.
All Student-Athletes must turn in a signed copy of the GHS Alternate Fall Mitigation Protocols before participating in any and all activities.
All Student-Athletes and Coaches are required to wear a mask at all times.
Coaches must keep an attendance log of all student-athletes for every activity.
Student-athletes should be organized into the same group/pod of 10-15 for the duration of the training period when possible.
Families are responsible for monitoring the temperature and overall health of the student-athletes and symptom checking.
Coaches are responsible to monitor the overall health of themselves and the symptom checking
Symptom checking:
Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing, sore throat?
Have you had a fever (100.4F or higher) in the last 48 hours?
Have you had a new loss of taste or smell?
Have you had muscle pain or chills?
Have you had a new headache?
Have you had nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea?
If yes to any of these indicators, the athlete/coach shall not participate

Coaches will fill out the Tracing Sheet and Verification Form before leaving GHS for away contests.
Student-Athletes are responsible to bring their own water, sports equipment and hand sanitizer  These items cannot be shared amongst student-athletes.  Drinking Fountain/Stations will not be available.  
Balls will be provided from the Coaches and must be properly cleaned before and after each training session.
Disinfectant spray, paper towels and wipes will be provided.  The disinfectant spray must remain on the ball for 5-10 minutes before wiping it down.
All activities should minimize any player to player physical contact when possible.
Locker Rooms will be opened by the supervising coach allowing only 10-15 student-athletes to change at a time.
Locker Rooms will be used for changing purposes only as showers will not be allowed.
When possible, student-athletes come to campus dressed ready to participate.
Bathrooms will be accessible as needed with one person allowed in at a time.

Weight Room/Fitness Center
All Coaches and Student-Athletes will be required to wear a mask and appropriate clothing while in the weight room.
Appropriate Clothing.
Clothing in accordance to the school dress code.
Clothing that covers the skin, no tank tops, cut-offs, midriffs, etc.
Pods of 15 student-athletes and 1 Coach will be allowed in the weight room at a time.
Each group will be responsible for cleaning the equipment used at the end of the session.
Disinfectant Spray and paper towels will be provided.  The disinfectant spray must remain on the equipment for 5-10 minutes before wiping it down.

Events
GHS will allow two adult spectators per student-athlete to attend events.
Football Varsity Rosters are around 50 - 100 spectators per team - 200 total.
Football JV2 Rosters are around 30 - 60 spectators per team - 120 total.
Coaching staff will be allowed limited spectators if necessary.
Soccer Varsity & JV Rosters are around 20 - 40 spectators per team - 80 total.
25 GHS students will be allowed to attend the varsity football game based on a lottery system.
15 GHS students will be allowed to attend the varsity soccer games based on a lottery system.
Coaches/Athletic Administration will collect the names of the two adult spectators two days prior to the event and submit to the Athletic Office for Opposing Schools.
Every spectator will wear a mask at every event and social distance in the stands.
Every spectator will check in with the attendant upon entering the event.
At the conclusion of each contest all fans will be required to leave immediately and not allowed to congregate afterwards.
Athletic Booster Club will run Concessions at events.
GHS student-athletes and families will follow these mitigation procedures (As above for GHS) unless the host/away school has more restrictive protocols.
