WHAT: A 10-minute presentation, sharing a piece of the Universe with the public using planetarium visuals at Ball State's Annual Astronomy SLAM!
WHEN: Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 6:30pm.
WHERE: This will be an in-person event at the Brown Planetarium.
WHO: Ball State students! Fill out the form below for the chance to get a spot to present. First-time applicants will be given priority.
WHY: You'll be a part of a friendly competition for the title of Astronomy Slam Champion! This a great honor that comes with a pretty nice trophy. Additionally, all participants will receive an award as the public will also vote the presenter who was: Most Visually Engaging, Most Energetic, and Most Thought-Provoking.
Also, there will be snacks. Yes. Food. There will be food.
HOW: You will need to dedicate more time to this presentation than a typical 10-minute PowerPoint presentation that you may be familiar with. This is because you will be using planetarium technology and equipment to present, with the help of planetarium staff.
Along with developing and testing your presentation ahead of time, there will be a dry run of the event the evening prior on Friday from 5-6:30pm.
