Explore Winooski River Floodplain restoration at Saint Michael’s College

This walk will wind through restored wetlands and replanted floodplain forests in the Winooski River floodplain. You’ll see several tree species, learn about efforts made to reduce nutrient flow from the landscape to Lake Champlain and steps you can take on to reduce your impact on water quality. Learn about invasive species and ongoing efforts to reign in some of these opportunistic plants. 

Wear sturdy footwear for a 90 minute hike on mixed and sometimes muddy surfaces with about 140 feet of elevation gain.
