July 13 (Thur) 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Join naturalists Brett Amy Thelen and Susie Spikol for good company and great views on this gentle, 2-mile loop walk along scenic country roads and an old railroad bed. We’ll take our time to savor the sights and sounds of the summer woods, explore both natural and cultural history, and make our way to one of the best views in Hancock. Terrain will be gentle ups and downs on both paved and dirt roads, along with a stretch on the rail trail, which has a packed-dirt and wood-chip base and the occasional tree root or buried railroad tie. Dress for the weather and conditions, including biting insects. Meet at the Old Dublin Road Rail Trail parking area in Hancock at 10 a.m. Back by 11:30 a.m.
