Minorities in Medicine
Mission:
As a member of minorities in medicine we serve to educate and promote diversity within the medical field. Striving to enhance the lives of members and associates, we put our best foot forward through hands on experience in the medical field along with services within.

To be eligible for office:
 1. Candidates must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.3 or better.
 2. Must be in good standing with the College (no disciplinary sanctions, etc.)
 3. Candidates must have a clear understanding of the goals and mission of Minorities in Medicine and will maintain a professional and positive attitude

Responsibilities and Duties of each position:

The Vice President shall preside at organization meetings in the absence of the President. The Vice President shall perform all legal duties assigned by the President. The Vice President shall assume the office of President if the office becomes vacant.

Committee Chair shall help In consulting with the President on collaborations and be an overseer of other boards or committee members. They will be knowledgeable about every position and will be available for questions from other positions.

The Co-Committee chair will perform the same duty as the committee chair and will serve as an assistant to them, if needed. Underclassmen preferred.

The Treasurer shall handle all financial affairs and budgeting of the organization, maintain all necessary accounting records, and prepare financial reports for the membership. The Treasurer shall collect all dues (if applicable) and revenue and submit it to the Director of Student Life for deposit. The Treasurer shall work with the Director of Student Life to maintain the finances of the organization. The President shall participate in the yearly Treasurer’s Training offered by the Student Life Office.

The Secretary shall take minutes at all meetings of the organization, keep these on file, and submit copies to organization members upon request. The Secretary shall be responsible for all organization correspondence and shall keep copies on file. The Secretary shall maintain membership records for the organization.

Social Media coordinator shall take pictures and promote events. They shall create flyers and be in charge of putting them up around campus, along with running the social media accounts.

The Co-Events coordinator will perform the same duty as the events coordinator (create and oversee events, book rooms, make sure events have all the necessary items they need to go successfully, etc) and will serve as an assistant to them, if needed. Underclassmen preferred.

The Development Chair shall develop a long-range fund development plan with a mix of strategies including revenue goals and action plans. They will oversee fundraisers and additional funding.

Recruitment/Public relations committee will be in charge of recruiting and building relations with the community. Tabling and talking will be a big part of this job. They shall be approachable with smiling faces as well as great personalities, being the first face of Minorities in Medicine.

The Public Relations director will meet all qualifications of the general recruitment/public relations committee, but they will be the overseer and main point of contact for the Vice President and Committee Chair.
