Parent / Carer Consultation Survey on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) June 2021
As you may already be aware, the Department for Education announced changes to Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) following nationwide consultation. These changes came into effect from September 2020 and are statutory from September 2021. All schools are required to comply with the updated requirements. This means we have been reviewing our RSE curriculum and policy so we can be sure our provision is appropriate for our pupils based on their:

Age
Physical and emotional maturity
Religious and cultural backgrounds
Special educational needs and disabilities

As part of this process, the school has consulted with the local authority, staff and governors to help inform our decisions on when and how certain content is covered. At Cale Green, we aspire to 'learn and live together' and believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is a crucial step in effectively meeting children's needs and developing a curriculum that can help each child reach their full potential.

Over the next two weeks we would like to extend this consultation period to parents / carers. Your responses to this survey will help us understand your views and take these into consideration as we further update our curriculum offer to meet the needs of the Health Relationships and Sex Education requirements. Survey data will be treated confidentially.
