Welcome to the first step in joining SwimMAC Carolina! Please fill out the below form accurately to best serve and sign your child up for our tryouts for the Fall of 2023. All questions are required and will help streamline (pun intended) the process in giving you guys efficient communication throughout this process.
Tryouts will be available at the end of August with the dates provided below. The time of ALL tryouts will be:
6:00-7:00pm @ HFFA
Once you sign up, a coach will contact you the day of your tryout by 12:00pm (noon) to confirm your appointment, give you a list of items needed (goggles, suit, towel..etc) & to let us know if you are unable to attend.
Information regarding the result will be given at a later date, communicate to you by email. Rest assured, there IS a spot within SwimMAC for all swimmers who tryout - we have a plethora of programming available that best serves each individual athlete for where they are in their swimming journey!
General things we look for in our tryout process include:
- Knowledge / Understanding of all 4 competitive strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly)
- Knowledge / Understanding of Diving & Flip Turns
- Coachability - able to take feedback and apply it through this process. Our coaching staff is conducting these tryouts and will be done so in a typical format of how we normally operate practices throughout the season. We will be offering coaching during these tryouts in hopes to make each swimmer the best they can be during the process.
