Participant Registration Virtual Afrocentric Summer Mentorship Program 2021
We at Find Your Path are so excited to announce that this summer we will run our fourth annual Afrocentric Summer Mentorship Program- with a virtual twist! The program will run for seven weeks from July 10th - August 21st with live online sessions on Saturdays, July 10, 17, 24, 31 and August 7, 14, 21. The program will take place from 11:00am to 3:00pm each week.
 
This program is intended for youth living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) ages 12 to 15 (or grades 7-10), though students from elsewhere are still free to register. Through hearing from successful Black leaders, engaging in conversations on Afrocentric themes, and bonding with Black mentors currently pursuing post-secondary education, we aim to increase participants' personal and academic resilience.
 
Each week, we will focus on a different African principle (e.g. Umoja/unity or Imani/faith) and our discussion of each principle will be grounded in a particular discipline (e.g. art or epidemiology). Weekly Saturday sessions will include an interactive presentation by an influential Black leader or professional, followed by group discussions and activities. Throughout the program, participants will be sent an activity package with materials required for weekly sessions, along with some snacks and goodies. Please list any dietary restrictions that the participant has. *
