• Every adult and child must be free from COVID-19 symptoms to enter school grounds. Symptoms include:
○ fever (temp ≥ 100.4ºF) or chills
○ cough
○ shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
○ fatigue
○ muscle or body aches
○ headache
○ altered mental status (e.g. confusion)
○ conjunctivitis or “pink eye"
○ new loss of taste or smell
○ congestion or runny nose
○ sore throat or hoarseness
○ painful purple or red lesions on the feet or swelling of the toes (“COVID Toes”)
○ rash
○ nausea or vomiting
○ diarrhea
○ abdominal pain

• Parents and caregivers must monitor their child for signs of infectious illness every day. In case of any signs or symptoms, parents must notify their teacher and keep their child home. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after a person is exposed to the virus, so please take them seriously. While we understand that many of these symptoms can also be non-COVID-19-related, we must proceed with an abundance of caution during this public health emergency.

• Children and adults must be symptom-free without any medications for 72 hours before returning to school.

• If a child or adult becomes ill while at school, the ill person will be separated from the rest of the cohort and must leave school as soon as possible after informing their teacher.

• If you, your enrolled child, or a member of your household, is experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms referenced above, you must let the teacher or Director know right away and stay home from school. You may be required to get a COVID test and/or self-isolate before returning to school. If the symptomatic person tests negative for COVID-19 without close contact to a known case, you may return to school based on the diagnosis and instructions given by the healthcare provider OR if at least 24 hours have passed since the last fever without the use of fever-reducing medication AND symptoms have improved. It is important to communicate with the teacher and Director before returning to the Co-op.

• If you or your enrolled child tests positive for COVID-19, you must let the teacher and Director know right away and stay home from school. You may return to school after at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared AND at least 24 hours have passed since the last fever without the use of fever-reducing medications AND symptoms have improved. If the Case has not experienced symptoms, you may return to school 10 days from the date of the first positive test. If you develop symptoms during the isolation period, then the criteria for confirmed Cases with symptoms apply. It is important to communicate with the teacher and Director before returning to Little Wonders.

• If a household member of you or your enrolled child tests positive for COVID-19, you must let the teacher and Director know right away and stay home from school. You, or your child, may return to school after quarantining for a full 14 days after the COVID 19-positive household member completes their isolation. If the COVID-19-positive household member is able to isolate from the other family members (by, for example, leaving the home to isolate in a hotel room), then the other household members would remain in quarantine for a full 14 days after the date of last exposure to the Case. Testing is recommended but will not shorten quarantine. One cannot test out of quarantine. It is important to communicate with the teacher and Director before returning to Little Wonders.

• If you or your enrolled child is a Close Contact of a Case, (i.e., was within 6 feet of a person with COVID-19 for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period while the Case was infectious, regardless of whether the persons were wearing a face covering), you must let the teacher and Director know right away and stay home from school. You may return to school 14 days from the last exposure to the Case. Testing can be considered but will not shorten quarantine. One cannot test out of quarantine. It is important to communicate with the teacher and Director before returning to Little Wonders.

• If a household member of you or your enrolled child is a Close Contact of a Case, (i.e., was within 6 feet of a person with COVID-19 for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period while the Case was infectious, regardless of whether the persons were wearing a face covering), you must let the teacher and Director know right away and stay home from school. You may return to school after the household member who is a Close Contact has taken a COVID test at least 5-7 days after exposure and received a negative result, assuming you are not experiencing symptoms.

• All teachers and families will be informed of any confirmed case of COVID-19 in the co-op community, while maintaining confidentiality as required by law.

• In the case of a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 in our community, the Director will contact local health officials for additional guidance.

• If a teacher, participating parent, or child enrolled at Little Wonders tests positive for COVID-19, the school will close for cleaning and the affected class will be asked to self-quarantine for 14 days after the last day the Case was present at school while infectious, per county guidelines.
