This Registration Survey is intended to gauge your interest in being part of KCS Parent Advocates for School Safety (KCS PASS), a volunteer-based, non-partisan, non-profit advocacy group of KCS parents. We are organizing this way so that many families can take collective action together. We will be completely transparent with all financial information (when we start taking donations and membership fees).
School safety is many things, including positive climate, anti-bullying, and anti-violence--but it starts with the basics of keeping students safe and promoting recommend health strategies. Therefore, at this time, KCS PASS is focused on holding Knox County Schools, the Board, and the Superintendent accountable for the following:
1. COVID-19 safety protocol assurances given to parents in the spring prior to the in-person decision deadline, which have not been implemented as stated.
2. Neglecting to apply public health expert recommendations in school buildings at this time.
3. Failure to have in place an ESSER-compliant COVID-19 safety plan at this time, for mitigation measures, contact tracing, quarantining, virtual education back-ups, or staff shortages.
KCS PASS will begin addressing other school safety issues as soon as possible.
In order to plan accordingly, we are asking for personal and detailed interests for any Parents and Employee-Parents at this time. If you indicate interest, we will follow up with you before locking you in!
Please, only one response per person (but multiple people from the same household can respond).
