Glenn County RCD - 2022 Resource Conservation Survey
Dear Glenn County Community:

We need your help and opinions! The Glenn County Resource Conservation District (RCD) Board of Directors will be reviewing and revising its Long Range Plan in 2022. The goal is to gather as much stakeholder input as possible to help shape this document; the Long Range Plan is a guide the RCD uses to pursue community-based projects.

Not sure what the RCD is? The RCD is a local special district of the State of California led by a volunteer board of directors and is 100% grant or fee-for-service funded – that is right, the RCD receives no funding from the county or direct funding from the state. The RCD’s mission is “To promote a sustainable, economically healthy county through services and management of natural resources while maintaining a desirable environment and addressing local resource issues and opportunities in a timely manner.” You may learn more about RCD and view its current Long Range Plan at: https://www.glenncountyrcd.org/our-mission

Currently, the RCD is facilitating several projects. For example, wildfire prevention projects, Glenn County Community Wildfire Protection Plan, Healthy Soils and Water Conservation programs for farmers / ranchers, outreach and education for the Colusa Glenn Subwatershed Program, and the RCD Connects with Kids program, which connects youth to local natural resources. However, we want to know from you, and / or your organization, if the RCD should be focusing on other issues and / or opportunities to enhance the RCD’s outcomes and community benefits.
