film adaptation of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, set in Africa,
students learn about African culture,
Mozart, The Age of Enlightenment, singing,
and careers in opera and animation.
Produced by San Francisco’s Pocket Opera in partnership with Lorraine
Hansberry Theater, San Francisco State University, Oakland
Symphony Youth Orchestra and Sacramento Youth Symphony, this offering
promotes thoughtful conversation and a new awareness about
artistic collaboration.
This program consists of two parts: your screening of the initial film and a second assembly or school visit featuring the 10-minute documentary and live Q&A with associated artists.
