STEM Community Alliance Program (STEMCAP): Presenter Application

We welcome applications to present with STEMCAP at Youth-In-Custody Centers from graduate students, research scientists, artists, writers, agency scientists, members of non-profit organizations, and any other community partner whose work connects to STEM concepts. We accept applications year-round.

STEMCAP is both a research and community engagement opportunity. Presenters will be asked to complete short surveys and/or focus group interviews about their experiences.

Science Right Now (Stand-alone workshop: Scientist describes his/her research project)

Art-Science (Stand-alone workshop: Artist leads an art workshop and connects it to a scientific topic OR partners with a scientist to present connections between art and science topics)

Objects from Nature (Stand-alone workshop: students practice a variety of observation techniques, learn about natural history, and have the chance to directly handle natural objects)

Conservation Project (Stand-alone or multi-visit: Hands-on project that contributes toward solutions to a conservation issue).

Portal To Science (Stand alone: presenter leads a virtual lab tour that highlights the collaborative and cutting-edge nature of science)
