We are accepting proposals for projects, programs, or activities that support cross-sector partnerships, build community capacity, and integrate community engagement/involvement, and promote healthy, equitable communities. Proposals must share insight, actions, and experiences on how the project, program, or activities have led to greater community capacity and engagement opportunities.ย ย

Proposals should demonstrate examples of going beyond just getting community input, and moving toward sharing power, leadership, decision making, and accountability with community. (Moving toward the full partnership side of the community engagement spectrum - https://www.denvergov.org/files/assets/public/public-health-and-environment/documents/communityengagementspectrum.pdf).

Capacity-building is defined as the process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that organizations and communities need to survive, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world. (https://www.un.org/en/academic-impact/capacity-building)

Topics could include, but are not limited to how you are:
*engaging and celebrating your community members,
*addressing gang violence challenges
*incorporating youth input and advocacy into decision making
*creating opportunities for including underrepresented groups in community programs
*addressing mental health challenges for community members of all ages
*creating built environment amenities with community engagement and input
*navigating changing political landscapes from an interdisciplinary perspective
*embracing community leadership within your organizations
*improving access to healthy options (food, activity, programs) with community members
*building community culture

Be sure to include details: how your group formed; the benefits, challenges, and problems solved; shared responsibilities among group members; and dealing with financial requirements

Session length can range from 20 to 30 minutes. ย Sessions can have a variety of formats. Those with presenters from multiple sectors and focused on the previous topics will be given extra consideration.
