This is a live form with continuously updated information about the Expressive Arts Workshop Series (EAWS). You can use this form solely for information about the workshops and you can also use it to sign up for our mailing list (scroll to the bottom for that). Registration for the workshops is NOT required.

EAWS aims to build community through experiential arts and give students an opportunity for practice in co-facilitation. The series will take place in the second half of the spring semester and will alternate between a facilitated workshop and an Open Community Arts Space (see schedule below). Each workshop will be led by two expressive therapies graduate students, drawing from a variety of modalities. This series is not meant to be therapy for participants but rather facilitated arts expression that may be therapeutic in nature. Feedback will be gathered at the end of each session and given to student facilitators to aid in their clinical growth. The Open Community Arts Space will be a drop-in event where participants are free to create personal and or shared art in community. Materials will be provided and participants are not required to bring materials unless they feel so inclined. Workshops are free and open to all students, staff and faculty at Lesley University.

03/22/2023 – Strength & Resilience with Ravtesh (Expressive Arts) & Rithika (Drama)

“Come be with yourself, in the company of others, create a space filled with compassion by uplifting each other, there’s so much in you that you might not see, so join us for an evening to recognize what your strengths might be.” This workshop aims to help you acknowledge your strengths and values using art, movement, and writing. We invite you to come join us in co-creating a space of self-reflection, self-acceptance, and self-love.

04/05/2023 – E(voking)Motions and Rediscovering Sensations with Aarya & Alexis (Dance/Movement)

Join us for a workshop that explores the language of the body and enhances movement through the rediscovery of the sensations and signals our bodies send us, leading to greater creativity and expression.

04/12/2023 – Open Community Arts Space

04/19/2023 – A Playful Encounter with Robyn (Expressive Arts) & Hazuki (Drama)

In this workshop, play will be deconstructed as participants are encouraged to notice internal impulses that arise to external stimuli. While utilizing movement, expression and reflection you will encounter yourself and each other in play.

04/26/2023 – Open Community Arts Space

05/03/2023 – Field Day with Lexi & Sophie (Expressive Arts)

School's out for summer (almost)! Join us in an evening of expressive arts games where we will embrace some zany energy and a little bit of healthy competition. All you need to bring is your imagination and the prerogative to have a little fun. Invite your friends to celebrate the last EAWS workshop of the year!
