Application Form: 2020 Mental Health First Aid Training
In collaborative partnership with the office of Refugee Resettlement, the National Council of Behavior Health, and Indiana State Department of Health, BACI is hosting an 8-hour training, designed for church leaders, social workers, educators etc., with Free of charge.

Our partners from Washington D.C. who are Experts and Certified Mental Health First Aid instructors, will provide the training and other supports FREE of cost to the participants.

The participant who successfully completed this training will be awarded a Certificate of Mental Health First Aid.

About the Mental Health First Aid Training


Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports. This 8-hour course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect persons to the appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care. The program also teaches the common risk factors and warning signs of specific types of illnesses, like anxiety, depression, substance use, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and schizophrenia. Mental Health First Aid is a valuable resource that can make a difference in the lives of the one in four Americans struggling with mental illnesses and additions, including those experiencing suicidal thinking. Certified Mental Health First Aid instructors provide a list of community healthcare providers and national resources, support groups, and online tools for mental health and additions treatment and support. All trainees receive a program manual to compliment the course material.
