A note from Jac:
Hello! My name is Jacqueline, but I go by Jac, and I am a PASS Mentor for Political Science. I graduated from El Camino College in the Spring of 2020 with two Associate of Arts degrees in Political Science and General Studies, focusing on Behavioral and Social Sciences. While I was at El Camino, I took POLI 1H, POLI 2, POLI 3, POLI 7, and POLI 10H (in addition to many other El Co classes) and was quite involved with various clubs and committees on campus. Most recently, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a focus on American Government. Specifically, I focused on American institutions, public opinion, and social movements. So, if you need any assistance whatsoever in regards to political science course content, navigating El Camino or even the transfer process, please don't hesitate to fill out the form below. I look forward to meeting and talking with you soon!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
1) What is PASS?
Peer Assisted Student Support (PASS) aims to provide a learning atmosphere that differs from the traditional tutorial environment. PASS is a student services support program that provides peer-led group sessions and one-on-one by appointment sessions. These sessions are led by a PASS Mentor who has mastered the course material and been trained to facilitate sessions where students can meet to improve their understanding of course material, review and discuss important concepts, and develop new skills and strategies.
2) What are PASS Sessions?
PASS sessions are peer-facilitated, structured sessions designed to help students in and outside of the classroom. PASS sessions meet one to two times a week throughout the semester.
3) What are PASS Mentors?
PASS Mentors are a vital part of student support programs at El Camino College as they provide a crucial link between the classroom, the campus, and the community. PASS Mentors are current or former El Camino College students who are available to support and encourage students at any stage of their academic career. PASS Mentors work directly with students in a group session with other students in the course and one-on-one by appointment. In addition to offering academic support, they can assist students in navigating campus systems and resources and help students become more engaged in the campus community by providing information, guidance, and encouragement.
