Over two decades of training experience has taught us the importance of having a regular personal practice as the first and most fundamental step towards any form of formal training in yoga. A very integral part of our learning pedagogy is studying and working with a mentor/personal teacher who is responsible for helping you with your personal yoga practice and progression. Your teacher will also help you have a wholesome experience of yoga as studied and practised in the tradition of Sri T Krishnamacharya. Further training is possible only on such a foundation. In fact, your teacher will be able to help you assess the readiness for a more serious commitment to this path, becoming a yoga teacher/therapist!
Also, the learning process requires incessant efforts to keep the flame of self-inquiry alive by your inner aspirations rather than any external rewards like certification. Without such an inner aspiration it may not help you truly appreciate or benefit from the transformative power of yoga.
To enable a more organic and meaningful engagement with yoga, we are offering 3 levels of learning, this will take at least 5 years of serious commitment to your own learning and growth through yoga. If you are ready, please join us on this exciting journey!
If you don’t have the time and not sure of such a commitment, never mind, you can benefit from our Level 1 course and several workshops and study programs we offer regularly. This space is a very rich learning ground for all serious yoga aspirants.
Level 1:
Yoga Sadhana
This is the space to begin your serious journey into Yoga. If you are a practitioner and have begun to ask important questions about life and living, seeking to understand the what, why and how of yoga, you may be ready for this program. This is also a program our Acharyas and Vaidyas come back to again and again to refresh your foundational learning and commitment to personal growth.
Yoga Sadhana will help you understand if this is the path you would like to take and how serious your commitment to it is. It will also help us understand your readiness for a more serious level of training to be a teacher/therapist.
Please register NOW so you can start your journey with us through personal classes with a mentor - before or along with the Yoga Sadhana course.
Level 2:
Yoga Acharya (500+ hours, 2 years)
We offer this in 2 steps: 200 hours of Yoga Instructor Training Program (YITP) and 300 hours of Yoga Acharya.
You can apply for YITP if you have completed Yoga Sadhana. Regular personal practice with a teacher from YogaVahini is an important pre-requisite to apply for YITP.
The individual’s growth and learning will be central to our training process. Certification is only a by-product, not the goal of our training.
Level 3:
Yoga Vaidya (850+ hours, 3-5 years)
Those who complete Yoga Acharya with YogaVahini and have taught one-on-one classes for a minimum period of one year (post graduation) under the active guidance of a mentor from YogaVahini can apply for the Yoga Vaidya program.
