Throughout the month of March, Save Barnegat Bay and our partners at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge celebrate the life and legacy of Rachel Carson. During Women's History Month, the Barnegat Bay Book Club pulled from the shelf an environmental classic - "Silent Spring." Groundbreaking for its significance in revealing the use and dangers of pesticides without reservation, "Silent Spring" was a turning point in the environmental movement and is credited with the beginnings of the Environmental Protection Agency. The Refuge will be bringing us a virtual zoom presentation all about Rachel Carson, her work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and her legacy of helping bring awareness about DDT and other harmful chemicals. Join us at 6pm over zoom on March 23rd to learn more!
This event will take place in a Zoom meeting on March 23rd at 6pm. This event will be recorded and posted to youtube.
