MPY Workshop Evaluation
Title: School Attendance Summit: Returning to School

Date: September 28, 2021

Description: MPY sponsors a School Attendance Summit every Fall to discuss issues relating to chronic absenteeism and tardiness, along with the mental health issues that impact student school attendance. After more than 18 months of disrupted “live” schooling, this summit is probably more important and relevant than in the past. Topics will include, but not be limited to, the issues and challenges that school staff face as schools reopen fully live and confront learning loss and gaps in social emotional development.

This conference features a mental health expert, a school superintendent and representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education and the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families. Covid-19 has exacerbated the equity gap and addressing school attendance is more important than ever.
