Thank you!   Workshop Description:

Lectures get a bad rap. They can be boring or even overwhelming for students - not to mention instructors! But what if we told you they could be engaging, dynamic, and highly effective? This workshop will show you how through a mix of public speaking skills and an introduction to dynamic lecturing.

In this workshop, you will practice various, effective speaking techniques, including fear management and pacing and tone shifts to emphasize ideas. We will then discuss the concept of dynamic lecturing, which interleaves traditional lecture and interactive content for your students. Lastly, you will draft a sample lecture which incorporates dynamic lecturing.

After this workshop, you will be able to:

- Demonstrate elements of effective public speaking

- Describe features of dynamic lecturing

- Design a lesson plan using dynamic lecturing
