Bio & Adoption Application - Huckleberry (Huck)
Meet Huck, a one year old pup with the softest, most soulful eyes. Huck's #1 goal in life is to be a blanket, you can typically find him laying across your lap, soaking up as many pets as he can get. He loves to roll around in the grass outside and go for walks. Huck sadly found himself dumped on the streets twice as a result of his deafness before coming to SNARL. Since his intake, he has been thriving in his foster home and is quickly learning hand signals. He is looking for a home who will love him for who he is, a land hippo full of joy, who is equally capable as a hearing pup.

Adoption applications for him are being accepted across the USA and Canada. He is currently being fostered in North Carolina. SNARL is happy to assist the adoptive family with arranging transportation to his perfect forever.

Vaccinated: Yes
Neutered: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Medical: Healthy. Heartworm tested - negative. Deaf - responds to hand signals
Housetrained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes, whines for a few minutes and then settles
Basic obedience: Yes, knows "sit", "come", "good boy" and "no". SNARL is happy to continue supporting the adoptive family in teaching Huck hand signals. Training a deaf dog is very similar to training a hearing pup, only the visual of your hand replaces the spoken word!
Energy level: Medium

Good with:
Kids: Yes, all ages
Cats: Unknown
Dogs: Yes, loves other dogs

Likes: Huck loves to play with other dogs, lay with his foster family and has a quirky affinity for the vacuum! He adores the outdoors and will happily roll over for belly rubs while enjoying the grass.

Huck loves to go for walks and is improving his leash skills with the use of a front clip harness. He is working on his politeness when it comes to meeting new people (as he loves them SO much that he will occasionally jump and give them a big hug). An adopter who is willing to continue positively reinforcing good manners and hold firm boundaries will be a great fit for Huck. Given his love of the outdoors, Huck is looking for a home that has a yard he can enjoy.

As per his foster family, Huck is a "big ole baby who just wants to lay on you". If you're looking for a sweet, young pup who is just as eager to go on an afternoon stroll as he is to curl up for movie night, Huck is your boy!

Please note that submitting this application does not guarantee you adoption. It is simply a tool we use to help us both identify a good potential match for your family and lifestyle. A successful adoption depends on selecting the right dog for your household and a good understanding of Huck's needs and care requirements. Please help us with this process by answering the following questions fully and completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Thank you for your interest in Huck!

Huck's adoption fee is $200 USD. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested.
