Social Justice & Developmental Psychology: Applied Frameworks for Critical Research
Master's level course taught at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, Fall 2020

Mondays 7:15-9:15pm EST
Zoom

Course description: This course will explore social justice frameworks that can be utilized in developmental research to disrupt, interrupt, and transform pathologizing paradigms and developmentally violent practices as it relates to minoritized children and families in the U.S. context. Grappling with works that name the impact of racism across development, this course elevates the works of emerging and early-career scholars, advanced doctoral students and community practitioners through a blend of guest-lectures, flash-talks, and critical dialogue. Students will gain practice in the reading, analysis and writing/application of developmental theories and social justice frameworks to their own emerging research projects.
