Out of an abundance of caution in response to the World Health Organization's March 11, 2020 declaration of COVID-19 as a global pandemic, my practice is assessing the possible need to offer web/video-based services (e.g., Telehealth or Telemental Health) in the coming weeks.

Your private health insurance may allow Telehealth services. Some insurance plans may require you specifically requesting this service to be covered by your insurance provider.

Medicare currently has very strict rules governing coverage for Telehealth services and does not cover this service in private practice settings.

Anticipating possible government support for flexing these rules in light of controlling the spread of COVID-19, I am preparing my practice’s response to help prevent infection.
