Nylon shuttles will be supplied.
Not everyone comes with a friend - those who come as singles may need to be approached to play with you - not everyone is comfortable nudging into an already existing group to play with - if someone is waiting please do not assume they are resting - approach them and ask them to play - no matter what their skill level is - those who do not bring friends likely want to make new friends. Doubles is normally what is played but singles is possible if court space warrants it and no one is sitting.
2. It's okay to even up the teams
There are a variety of levels of players who attend this program so it is okay to even up teams as best you can before you start - everyone should be playing unless they are actually choosing to rest - it's a great way to learn a few new tricks if you play with someone with more experience too :-) In saying that, if the need is there to make two groups we will definitely consider this an option and will figure out a way to make this happen.
3. Experienced players
Please be mindful of the level of the players you are playing with and against - it's important that everyone on the court is having fun and enjoying themselves with varying comfort levels and experience.
Past history in clubs and programs like this is that they slowly die if there is limited "mixing", inclusivity and flexibility. We think we will have enough players this season to make two groups. We will know within the first month or so if we have the numbers to warrant a beginner group and an experienced group.
With that in mind we wish you all a "Smashing Season" out on the courts and know that you all will do your finest to ensure everyone is having FUN! This program will not run without you!
We are open to any suggestions to improve our program. Feel free to email us your thoughts, comments or concerns that we may not have considered.
