Our school community is excited to share our support for FoodPrints and the many positive benefits it has for Lafayette.
In FoodPrints, students learn about science, health, nature, farming, life cycles, cooking, eating, working in teams, trying new things, and sharing. Young students not only practice important social-emotional skills in FoodPrints, they also learn about and gain interest in eating nutritious food; young students who were before wary of veggies before are now eating more fresh produce because of FoodPrints.
FoodPrints is loved by the Lafayette students, families, and teachers who participate. We ask City Council, City leaders and DCPS leadership to fully support the FoodPrints program with sustained funding that allows us to maintain the program at Lafayette year after year, and allows more schools and students across the city to participate.
