1.  Students who quit pep, dance, drill, or cheer will be ineligible to tryout the following year. *

2.     Competition team selection may be held separately from team tryouts and directors/coaches will have the final determination in the selection of competition teams. *

15.  Students with unnatural hair color will receive demerits and will not be permitted to be in uniform or perform. *

16.  Spirit Probation is for 30 days. *

17.  Receiving one or more failing grades (below 70) on any two official report cards will result in dismissal from the spirit group. *

18.  Each member will participate in all assigned fundraising activities to meet his/her financial obligation. *

19.  Fundraising money is property of the school district and cannot be refunded. *

20.  Pep Squad membership is open to eleventh grade students only. *

31.  Graduations and military ceremonies for an immediate family member are unexcused absences. *

32.  Engaging in bullying/cyberbullying will result in 3-10 demerits. *

33.  Candidates who suffer a serious injury that may impact their ability to actively participate in the tryouts will not be able to tryout. *

34.  A member violating spirit probationary status will be dismissed from the organization. *

35.  Students are allowed to wear their school issued uniforms during unassigned times. *

36.  Students will receive 2 demerits for a lunch detention assignment. *
2 points
37.  Piercings other than ears and tattoos are permitted in the spirit organization. *
2 points
38.  Any member who misses one practice may forfeit performing in the upcoming scheduled performance(s) and/or future scheduled performances. *

39.  An unexcused absence is automatically given if a note/email is not presented to the director/coach. *
2 points
40.  In case of illness, a parent/guardian must notify the director by email/telephone prior to the practice or performance. *

41.  Students are allowed to leave games and other functions with their parents or friends anytime. *
2 points
42.  Special school activities which are approved in advance by the director/coach are considered excused absences. *

43.  Members do not need to participate in projects to promote school spirit. *
2 points
44.  In order to be eligible for end of year awards and/or banquet, the member must be in good standing and a current member of the organization. *

45.  Students are permitted to perform when on scholastic probation. *

46.  If an outside activity interferes with the student’s involvement in a spirit group, the student may be removed from membership in the organization. *

47.  Students will receive 9 demerits for an Alternative School Placement. *

48.  Students do not have to practice when on spirit group probation. *
2 points
49.  Violation of the NEISD Fine Arts Code of Conduct may result in additional consequences. *

50.  Parents/guardians are not required to attend the scheduled tryout meeting. *
