What is the Youth Band Showcase Opportunity?

OneFest will be hosting an opportunity for Young Bands across the country to perform at OneFest 2024! 

The mission of this opportunity is to provide a place for young Christian musicians to showcase their God given abilities, which will result in exposure on the OneFest website and other social media platforms.

How do I enter?

To enter, submit a video of your band performing one song (original or cover) introduced with the song title and the songwriting credits. The video should show each band member performing and be close enough to see each member playing their instrument or singing.  We are not expecting professional quality videos, however, we must be able to clearly hear the band’s performance.  There is no fee to enter.

Who can enter?

There is an age requirement that 75% of all band members must be under the age of 18 years old.

Possible scenarios: 4-piece band - 1 adult, 3 youth; 8-piece band - 2 adults, 6 youth; 

A band can consist of between 1-8 members. Solo artists are fine, however, the soloist must accompany themselves with an instrument. No tracks, sampling or looping are allowed.  Original songs are welcomed.  This is a Christian event, therefore, it’s important that your message be positive and uplifting with a Christian message.  Swearing or the use of profane, intolerant or misogynistic language and inappropriate attire will be cause to turn off the sound system and disqualify a band’s performance.  Set lists and a band picture need to be submitted prior to the event.  

What will the process be like?

Bands should be prepared to play a set of songs; time slots may vary; minimum of 20 minute time slots. The event will take place on the Little More Stage with times to be determined.

The bands will be chosen by a panel of judges that will review each band application video, score out and determine the finalist bands. They will be judging applicants by evaluating a band’s overall quality including how the band blends together, musicianship, presence and creativity.

The application DEADLINE is June 1, 2024

Are there prizes involved?

If your band is selected, each band member will receive one free full event ticket for the 2024 OneFest Music Festival.  In addition to the tickets, your band will also receive free OneFest Event t-shirts and a OneFest swag bag.

All bands/groups are expected to respect the use of all OneFest stage and sound equipment, this includes not damaging any sound system equipment or stage facilities. No standing on monitors, speakers or damaging microphones or the community drum kit; no throwing objects (i.e. drumsticks) from the stage or into the crowd – any actions such as described above or causing damage to equipment will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediately turning off the sound and disqualification from the event.

Bands will only bring their instruments & cords and pedal board and will use OneFest stage amplifiers and backline. All drummers will use a community drum kit (they can use their own throne and switch out to double bass drum pedals if they bring them). Changeover time between band performances is limited to 10 minutes. Bands are responsible for securing their instruments & accessories on OneFest grounds.

By filling out a band application you and all band members have received parental consent to compete in the competition; and by submitting this band application all band members and their families hold harmless OneFest and all OneFest sponsors, volunteers and partners from any and all liabilities in association with competing in this performance/event; and you give your permission to use your likeness and that of all band members in any advertising for OneFest promotions.
