We would like to understand the diversity in instrument set ups that are being used in lab-based soil spectroscopy. Simultaneously, we are trying to determine what metadata on instruments and scanning environment should be included in the Open Soil Spectral Library (see soilspectroscopy.org for more information on the project goals).
