As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, Rain City Rock Camp is committed to safeguarding the health and wellness of our community. The steps outlined below reflect the most up to date safety precautions we have implemented in order to hold in-person events. We will continue to adjust and communicate as the situation evolves.
Rain City Rock Camp has created our COVID-19 policies with the safety of our staff, participants, volunteers, families, and community members in mind. We recognize that no policy offers absolute protection from harm, and that there is inherent risk in even the best of plans. Our policies include practices to maintain safety of in-person programs; our success is dependent on candor and open communication. Our policies may differ at times from the mandates and guidelines implemented by local, state, and/or national governments. However, we are using science-based recommendations to ground our policies on practices that will reduce risk of infection for our staff and community. We believe we keep each other safe; prioritizing equitable safety policies keeps us accountable to our community. Please consider your circumstances and comfort with risk tolerance in all programs. We welcome your questions and being in conversation with you.
Vaccination:
All program participants, volunteers, Teaching Artists, and staff are required to present proof of full vaccination in order to attend any Rain City Rock Camp in-person events or programs. The CDC defines being fully vaccinated as 2 weeks after completion of a two-dose mRNA series or one dose of Janssen vaccine. Based on available supply, we will be able to provide free rapid tests. As of March 1, 2022, all programs require proof of a negative COVID-19 test result prior to participation.
Masks:
Masks are required to be worn at all times by participants, volunteers, Teaching Artists, and staff. We strongly recommend K95/KN95 type masks (RCRC will have them available as needed). Double masking is also acceptable. Masks may be taken off for food and water breaks. We will do our best to schedule outdoor breaks, during which time masks may be taken off.
Social Distancing:
Participants should maintain at least 3 feet of distance between each other. Volunteers and Teaching Artists should maintain at least three feet of distance between participants to the extent possible or reasonable for instructional purposes.
A credit, shout-out, and thank you to JazzEd, which we adapted from and referred to often as a template for writing clear and practical COVID-19 safety policy. Thank you for your flexibility and commitment to keeping one another safe. Please reach out to us at
