Our learners from Years 5-8 complete their learning on devices, this is best when completed on their own device. We strongly encourage learners at Years 5 and 6 to “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) and expect learners in Years 7 and 8 to have their own device at school each day.
Learners are expected to bring devices to school to support their learning in the classroom and at home. We do not recommend any product over the other, however we ask that it aligns with supporting Google Apps for Education, it must also be able to connect with the internet. Noel Leeming has a fantastic service operating to help in purchasing a device for school. When purchasing your device, please think about longevity, frequency and ease of use. When considering which device would suit your child best, we recommend a device with a keyboard, so if you are looking at the purchase of an iPad, it is encouraged to also purchase a keyboard.
E-Learning is a key component in these learning spaces and the New Zealand Curriculum. It is our vision that technology is integrated throughout students’ learning to create competent digital citizens and to support authentic, higher-order thinking and collaborative learning. Having and using a device daily assists us in achieving this.
Please fill in this form, with your child, so they are able to bring a device to school for learning in 2024. Please ensure your child is aware of this form, as much of it pertains to their use of the device at school.
We have also attached a link to a BYOD flyer

As part of our ongoing relationship with Linewize, which allows us to monitor device use at school closely and keeps all our learners safe online, all devices will have Linewize Connect Software installed. This software sits alongside the programme Classwize which is used to monitor site usage and allows our teachers to ensure that learners are only accessing what they should be accessing. Further information about this will be given to you at a later date. To find out more about what Linewize helps provide us:
