Joint Hymn Ad Hoc Committee (JHAHC) Application
Purpose of the Committee:

This ad hoc committee will exist for the purpose of creating and distributing the North Central District Joint KKY-TBS hymn during the spring of 2021. This committee will include four active members from Kappa Kappa Psi from the NCD, four active members from Tau Beta Sigma from the NCD, the NCD Secretary-Treasurers of both organizations, and one committee advisor with professional music experiences. The committee will be installed upon the selection of committee members on January 30th, 2021 and will terminate upon the presentation of the NCD Joint Hymn at the 2021 NCD Convention. Responsibilities of the committee include meeting at least three times prior to the presentation of the finished product, finding potential hymns, soliciting the opinions of as many active members of the district as possible in the selection of the music for the hymn, collecting lyric suggestions from the members of the district, designing a rubric for selecting lyrics, arranging the hymn music and text, marketing / distributing the hymn, and presenting the finished product to the district at NCD convention.

Timeline for the Committee:

Week of February 1st = First committee meeting
February 14th = 3-5 potential hymns selected / send out survey to narrow to 1
February 28th = Hymn selected
Week of March 1st = Second meeting / lyrics solicited
March 21st = Lyrics due
Week of March 22nd = Third meeting / lyrics selected
April 7th = Hymn arrangement due / run by councils
April 9th = NCD Convention

- Marketing skills
- Songwriting / poetry experiences
- A willingness and ability to devote time for three roughly monthly meetings and the performance of specified duties outside of meetings
- High-quality communication and collaboration skills

You certainly do not need to meet all of the aforementioned criteria, but a majority of this criteria should be met by each individual member on the committee.
