Hello!
Welcome to the 2024 Teen Summer Service program at the Skokie Public Library.
This program is open to
rising 6th graders through 2024 high school graduates. Volunteers can:
- work in groups that meet regularly;
- help with one-time events; and/or
- work on projects independently from anywhere.
We’ll take your opinions and ideas into account and try new things as we go. Fill out this form, and if you want to join a committed group, we'll follow up with a
short phone interview. If you choose not to join a committed group, then just
watch your email. We'll
be in touch with ways that we can work together to learn skills, build community, make a difference in the world, and have fun.Some opportunities will begin as early as
June 5, and some opportunities will continue into
mid-August. An
informational session will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 6:30-7:30 pm if you want to learn more and meet other volunteers and team leaders.
Some options require a commitment to show up every week, and others allow you to sign up for one-time opportunities that fit your schedule. We will email everyone about flexible options and give folks a chance to sign up. If you are interested in any committed options, you'll tell us through this survey.
You don't have to live in Skokie. All young people in our area are welcome to join us, for as many or as few hours as you like. After June 2, options may become more limited.
If you're interested in volunteering, just fill out this form. It will take 5-15 minutes to complete, depending on your choices.
You can choose to join a committed group (which requires that you show up every week) and we’ll follow up with a short phone interview.
If a committed group doesn’t fit your schedule, you can choose flexible one-time opportunities! Just watch your email and we'll be in touch with other options that you can sign up for that will allow us to work together to learn skills, build community, make a difference in the world, and have fun.
