Pipeline Project Intern Application 2020-21
Through the Pipeline Project, UW undergraduates tutor, mentor and support K-12 students in Seattle schools, as well as rural and tribal communities across the state. Our project transforms the learning and inspires the growth of both UW and K-12 students, while addressing inequities in public education in Washington State.

We are looking for 2 more undergraduate interns to help us increase Pipeline's visibility on campus, create community and support among tutors, and provide program support.

Being a Pipeline intern is a great opportunity to build your leadership skills, learn about education program coordination, and build community. Pipeline interns are integral to keeping the program running smoothly. While the Pipeline intern team primarily reports to the Education Equity AmeriCorps member on the Pipeline Staff, interns are brought into the fold of the entire team.

Interns would work approximately 5 hours a week (flexible scheduling) including 1 all-intern meeting once a week. While these positions are unpaid, we can offer compensation in the form of General Studies Credit (and lots of free food that comes through the EXPD office suite).

We are looking for interns for the following positions:

Tutor Support and Data Analysis Intern:
-Plan and organize Tutor Training Week, a week long set of workshops for tutors to make up their tutoring hours during school closures
-Develop, track, and grade Online Tutor Modules
-Assist Pipeline Project staff in analyzing post-seminar survey data received from ~300 students participating in Inner Pipeline seminars
-Document key impacts on UW student learning from Inner Pipeline seminar assessment data through a Pipeline Project Annual Report.
-Recruitment: Classroom presentations, tabling, and other ideas formulated by the intern team

Literacy Arts Alternative Spring Break Intern
-Organizing, recruiting, and planning for the entire LA ASB program
-Lead planning in events to fundraise for LA ASB
-Coordinate Pipeline tutor engagement strategies
-Recruitment for Pipeline programs including LA ASB: Classroom presentations, tabling, and other ideas formulated by intern team

As a Pipeline Intern, you will also have the chance to engage in other opportunities to expand your skills, such as:
-Support the Pipeline Staff
-Facilitate the transition into a new name next year
-Co-facilitating an Inner Pipeline Seminar
-Design ASB magazine
-Develop and lead your own tutor workshop
-Lead a team on LA ASB
-Graphic Design
-Create community and participate in social events
-Networking within UAA and CELE programs

Pipeline Internships are for the entirety of the school year, Fall 2020 - Spring 2021. Applications are due by 11:59 PM, May 25th, 2020.
