The Faculty Council for Gender Equity and Justice is building a standing sub-committee focused on the experiences and rights of transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive members of the UW community. We are dedicated to examining and changing policy and practice across the institution to promote a culture of gender inclusion, equity, and justice. We are beginning with the Faculty Code, and we are eager to build a plan for assessing and addressing these issues across the institution. FCGEJ is also compiling resources to support others proactively pursuing change. We look forward to doing this work collaboratively and in response to the experiences of our community members.
