Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Bookmark Bookstore! We are currently in the process of moving our store from 721 Washington Street to 933 Broadway in Oakland.

Please review the following volunteer options and check the box for anything you're interested in.

Store Volunteer: Work either a regular weekly shift (depending on availability) or as an on-call substitute. Duties include receiving, unpacking and pricing donations; shelving new books and culling old stock; keeping sections alphabetized; general store upkeep; signing up new FOPL members; ringing up sales.

Online Sales Support: Assist with posting/updating items for sale on our online channels, including Amazon and eBay. Assist with processing online orders and preparing for shipment.

Farmers Market Volunteer: Assist with staffing booth at local Farmers Markets (Saturdays or Sundays). Tasks to include selling books; signing up new FOPL members; and facilitating children’s games and activities.

Book Transportation (volunteer with a pickup truck or other large vehicle): Transport boxes of books to recycling depot and/or re-donation sites. Transport estate sale acquisitions to the store.
