Medicine Game: Summer Lacrosse Camp for Girls Ages 8 - 18, hosted by Twin Cities Native Lacrosse

TCNL is hosting a series of three girls'-only lacrosse clinics with some of the best coaches in the region and the country.  We are seeking both experienced players and those brand new to the sport.  Our clinics have an emphasis on inspiring Native athletes by incorporating aspects of the traditional wooden-stick game.

What each player gets:
-Knowledge and skills development of the "modern" game from top college and international coaches

-Practice jersey with custom Native lacrosse logo

-Meet Haudenosaunee Nationals captain Katie Smith (also Div 1 player at Syracuse)

-Cultural connection to the traditional wooden stick game

-Optional chance to learn how to make their own wooden stick

-Chance to build skills for September's wooden stick tournament held in Minneapolis  (5th Annual competitive traditional lacrosse games by age/gender, compete as a team or join a team as an individual, open to all ages and abilities!)

-Meet other players who share similar interests in the game

About the clinics:  
Each clinic has something to offer in terms of skills development and team-building!  We strongly suggest attending all three clinics to learn the most.  Can't attend all three?  No problem.  Come to as many as you can.  

About the coaches:
Hamline University has won the regional conference title three years in a row, and has partnered with TCNL staff to learn and honor the heritage of the original Native game.  Led by Coach Karen Heggerness.

***Katie Smith (Haudenosaunee) is  traveling from Ontario, Canada, to share her experience and skills knowledge that took her to the top of the sport!  Coach Katie played Division 1 lacrosse at Syracuse University and is three-time player for Haudenosaunee Nationals (the Iroquois women's international team).    

 
Costs:
***Cost is $10 per player per clinic or $30 for all three clinics.  Optional wooden stick making class is $15.00  
*** Payment can be made via check or in person upon check-in at the clinic..  Checks need to be made out to:  Dream of Wild Health and mailed to "Dream of Wild Health, 1308 E. Franklin Ave., Ste 203, Minneapolis, MN. 55404."
